Harvest Festival

Harvest Festival 2021 is November 14.Harvest Festival

The Harvest Festival is a well-established tradition at IPC and an opportunity to return a portion of the blessings we have enjoyed all year long.

This is an opportunity for us to show gratitude for the bountiful harvest which God has graciously provided.

PLEASE bring your baked goods wrapped and ready to be sold.

The Outreach & Missions committee (O&M) has selected the recipient of the Harvest Festival collection. Among the criteria we consider when making the decision are the impact the donation will have and the fact that we know the selected organization and can trust that the funds collected will be put to good use.

This year the O&M committee has decided to support the Caterpillar Life Coaching Center project, established in 2014 by Kerry Wetton in Johannesburg (South Africa). Kerry is no stranger to the IPC congregation, she attended our Church between 2000 and 2002 and again in 2005. Since then, Kerry has stayed in close contact with IPC. Kerry has a deep Christian faith and has dedicated her life to the poor and downtrodden.

Through her own counseling work and by training others, Kerry helps traumatized and depressed adults and children. The main focus of her work is the support of victims of domestic and sexual violence. In many cases, Kerry not only provides psychological but material help as well. Hundreds of people have already received hope and healing through Kerry’s ministry.

In order to increase the impact of her ministry, Kerry collaborates closely with local churches and emergency/rescue services. She is well recognized in the community and holds leadership positions in various municipal government bodies. The needs in the wider community are tremendous because the living conditions of the poor are precarious and government help is hard to find. Over 50% of South Africa’s children have experienced emotional or physical violence while every 26 seconds a woman becomes the victim of rape.

Supporting Kerry’s work through the Harvest Festival donation will help multiply her efforts to reach out to, support and protect many more traumatized victims.

There are different ways to support Kerry’s project: Use the donation envelopes included in the bulletin on November 7 and 14, the designated Harvest Festival Twint QR code above, use PayPal or you make a direct bank transfer to IPCs main account (IBAN: CH34 0025 1251 8803 5701 C), specifying that your contribution is for the Harvest Festival. And, the proceeds from the bake sale will all go to Kerry’s ministry as well. We thank you for your generosity.

2 Corinthians 9:7: God loves a cheerful giver.

Greetings in the name of the Lord!
