Let’s do a family excursion during the school break!

We will walk around the beautiful Lungernsee.  We will see 2 waterfalls - the easy hikers have the option to shorten the hike with a train ride and skip the taller waterfall. Please refer to the links below for more information.

Lungernsee  is a picturesque lake located in the canton of Obwalden in Switzerland. It is situated in the foothills of the Swiss Alps, surrounded by stunning mountain scenery.

The lake is relatively small, covering an area of approximately 9.2 square kilometers. Despite its size, Lungernsee is known for its crystal-clear, turquoise waters, which are fed primarily by the Lungerer and Melchaa streams. The lake's transparency allows for excellent visibility, making it popular among scuba divers and snorkelers.

Lungernsee is not only beautiful but also offers a range of recreational activities. Visitors can enjoy swimming and boating in the calm waters, or relax on the lakeside beaches and sunbathe. The lake is also well-known among anglers for its diverse fish population, including trout and whitefish.
