John 8:12

12 When Jesus spoke again to the people, he said, “I am the light of the world. Whoever follows me will never walk in darkness, but will have the light of life.”

I am the Light of the World …”

Shine wherever you are. You have to have the light before you can give the light.

God spoke and then there was light. He was light – the Three in One was light and the light came into the world. Then he created human beings in life form.

We have seen the light and we can bear that great light. Our sense of sight is activated by light.

When I have the choice between darkness and light, I choose light. In my house, the fluorescent kitchen light stays on continuously. If I get up in the night, I can still find my way; the tiny strip of light that shines in around the closed bedroom door is enough. Just as one candle in the dark is enough. Even one pin light will shine in the dark.

This Little Light of Mine

This little light of mine,

I’m gonna let it shine.

This little light of mine,

I’m gonna let it shine.

This little light of mine,

I’m gonna let it shine.

Let it shine, let it shine, let it shine.            ─ Source unknown

When I was 16 years old, I explained this idea to an older man, a neighbor. We were watching TV and it started to get dark. I described to him a room where the light switch was a string tied to the light, that hung down in the middle of the room. In the dark you would be grasping for that string and waving your arms around until you touched it.

It all comes down to where you start as to how soon you find the string. Preachers can give us a reference point to aid us in reaching our destination. They give verbal tips as we are on our path, are we hot or cold, nearer or further away.

The string will always be there. God wants you to find it!

P.S. Mr Ralph did find it and accepted Jesus on his deathbed. Praise the Lord!
