We will hike the first 2 sections of the 35km long "Swiss Path". Our hike starts on the Rütli meadow, the birthplace of Switzerland, with the section that covers the founding cantons of Uri, Schwyz, Unterwalden and Lucerne. We end our hike in Bauen which has an almost Mediterranean climate due to its sheltered position. Bauen locals are proud of the fact that Alberik Zwyssig, the composer of the national anthem, “Trittst im Morgenrot daher” ("When the morning skies grow red..."), was born here.

What to bring:

  1. Food for lunch and snack
  2. Water
  3. Caps, sunglasses and sunblock
  4. Mask and hand sanitizer
  5. Hiking poles - optional
