James Bultema is a graduate of Wheaton College and Denver Seminary and a PhD Candidate at ETF Leuven. He has lived in Turkey since 1990, serving as pastor of the Union Church of Istanbul before moving to Turkey’s fastest growing city of Antalya. There he and his wife Renata founded the St. Paul Union Church, Olive Grove Camp, the St. Paul Cultural Center, and other ministries. Currently, they, along with many others, are working to establish the Mozaik Cultural Center, which will be located adjacent to a major university. The topic of James’s doctoral dissertation is the Turkish Protestant Church. James and Renata have three children, two of whom are married, and all of whom are currently residing in the U.S.
