Should I Study--Why, How and What?

Deuteronomy 11:18-23: Fix these words of mine in your hearts and mind, tie them as a sign on your hands, and bind them on your foreheads. Teach them to your children, talking of them when you sit at home, and when you walk along the road, when you lie down, and when you get up. Write them on the door-frames of your houses and on your gates, so that your days and the days of your children may be many in the land that the Lord swore to your forefathers, as many as the days that the heavens are above the earth.

Joshua 1:8: Do not let this Book of the Law depart from your mouth, meditate on it day and night, so that you may be careful to do everything written in it. Then you will be prosperous and successful.

Proverbs 2:1-22: If you accept my words and store up my commands within you, turning your ear to wisdom and applying your heart to understanding, and if you call out for insight and cry aloud for understanding, and if you look for it as for silver and search for it as for hidden treasure, then you will understand the fear of the Lord and find the knowledge of God.

John 8:32: You will know the truth, and the truth will set you free.

Colossians 3:16: Let the word of Christ dwell in you richly as you teach and admonish one another with all wisdom, and as you also sing psalms, hymns and spiritual songs, with gratitude in your hearts to God.

2 Peter 1:2-3Grace and peace be yours in abundance through the knowledge of God and Jesus our Lord. His divine power has given us everything we need for life and godliness through our knowledge of him who called us by his own glory and goodness.

Romans 15:4: For everything that was written in the past was written to teach us so that through endurance and the encouragement of the Scriptures we might have hope.

2 Timothy 3:16: All Scripture is God-breathed and is useful for teaching, rebuking, correcting, and training in righteousness

2 Timothy 2:15: Do your best to present yourself to God as approved, a workman who does not need to be ashamed and who correctly handles the word of truth.
