Online Men's Breakfast

February 3, 2021

7:00am – 8:00am

Location: , ,

Category: Men

For our next Men's Breakfast on February 3, we will be discussing one of the most used commands in the Bible: "Fear Not", "Don't be Afraid", which appears over 300 times. This discussion is timely and appropriate in these times of the Covid pandemic.

As a prelude to our discussion, look at the Rembrandt painting "The Storm on the Sea of Galilee", painted in 1633.
Where are you in this painting? Are you at the bow of the boat, trying to manage the sails to battle against the tempestuous waves and sea, or are you at the stern, where Jesus quietly sits in peace and beckons us to trust Him in this place of rest?

We will also explore whether the fear of Covid and its possible outcomes has led to a resurgence of religious spirit, or "religiosity", as described in this interesting article.

Finally, we will look at Psalms 23, and how it impacts our lives and our trust in God.
