All Day

Generous Jesus

“If you love me, keep my commands.And I will ask the Father, and he will give you another advocate to help you and be with you forever—the Spirit of truth. The world cannot accept him, because it neither sees him nor knows him. But you know him, for he lives with you and will be in you. I will not leave you as orphans; I will come to you. Before long, the world will not see me anymore, but you will see me. Because I live, you also will live. On that day you will realize that I am in my Father, and you are in me, and I am in you” (John 14: 15-20).

Jesus said, “If you love me, you will obey my commands.” He then promised he would ask the Father to give us a Counselor, the Holy Spirit, who would be with us forever.

We can pray to the Father with the help of the Counselor, the Spirit of truth. The world cannot understand this concept: that the Spirit lives with us and is in us forever.

We are his true children, and Jesus said that he wouldnot leave us as orphans:

“Who here among us has not been broken,
Who here among us is without guilt or pain,
So oft abandoned by our transgressions?
If such a thing as grace exists,
Then grace was made for lives like this.

There are no strangers,
There are no outcasts,
There are no orphans of God.
So many fallen, but hallelujah,
There are no orphans of God!

Come, ye unwanted and find affection;
Come, all ye weary, come and lay down your head;
Come, ye unworthy, you are my brother.
If such a thing as grace exists,
Then grace was made for lives like this.

O blessed Father, look down upon us;
We are your children, we need your love.
We run before your throne of mercy,
And seek your face to rise above.”
